Mexican Dinner & Sol De Mexico

A great evening is planned right here at the Clarion Inn.  There will be games on the rooftop, dancing with DJ Jam House Productions, great food and FRIENDS!!

Enjoy a Mexican dinner buffet served with enchilada casserole, fajitas, tacos, chimichangas, and sopapillas with all the toppings. Watch out for the Folkloric dance group Sol De Mexico located in the bar area.  This group was started four years ago by Estela Gutierrez with the purpose of bringing second- and third-generation Latino children closer to their roots. The group consists of small children to young, college-age adults who perform during celebrations such as Cinco de Mayo, in addition to the Community Mexican Fiesta commemorating Mexican Independence Day. Sol De Mexico performs traditional dances from various regions in Mexico such as Jalisco and Veracruz.  The entire group is organized on a volunteer basis.

Followed by Cowboy poetry is a popular cultural phenomenon associated with the lifestyle of cattle ranching in western North America.  Leonard Hitz is a member of the GCCC Board of Trustees, and a former Garden City banker who grew up southeast of Dodge City on a cow, calf and wheat operation. He has performed throughout three states, and harkens back to the horseback days of working cattle.

Thursday, September 27th

"In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. We will understand only what we are taught."
